The DHC-8-402 Dash 8 (Q400) is a twin-turboprop, medium-range, passenger aircraft. The main engine bay of each engine nacelle has two large forward access doors, one inboard and one outboard. Its twin-engine configuration brings economic maintenance which is especially true when compared with the Dash 7, its four engine predecessor. Initially designed to carry 36-39 passengers (Dash 8-100), subsequent variants such as the 200, 300, 400 and Q400 models have stretched seating capacity up to 78 passengers (model numbers prefixed.

Each module concludes with a test, and when all the modular tests are successfully completed, a certificate of completion is generated.
